Kilimanjaro Climb |
|
Marangu Route has a moderate
slope, making it less difficult to climb. It is the most
popular way up Kilimanjaro, and is the only route with
emergency evacuation service. Also, it is the only route
with huts, having dormitory and dining rooms. |

Day 1 |
Greet & meet and arrival transfer to
Impala Hotel in Arusha for
Mt. Kilimanjaro climb briefing, dinner and overnight. |

Day 2 |
Check out and leave after
breakfast in a four wheel drive vehicle for
Mt. Kilimanjaro
- Marangu gate for Mountain Climb registration and
entrance fee payments. Begin climbing to the first hut,
Mandara hut,
at 9,000ft. Lunch along the way. Dinner and and overnight stay at Mandara
hut. |

Day 3 |
After breakfast, ascend through the alpine
meadow, grassland and moorland to
Horombo hut, 12,000ft.
Enjoy a view
Mawenzi and
Kibo peaks
and lunch along the way. Dinner and an overnight at
Horombo
hut. |

Day 4 |
After breakfast, further ascending to
Kibo hut, 15,000ft,
over stony and eroded terrain with mountain vegetation: giant cactus,
groundswell and lobelia. Lunch along the way. Dinner and an
overnight stay at
Kibo hut. |

Day 5 |
Wake up at midnight, and after a snack,
proceed to the summit through Gillman’s point, 18,640ft, about 5-6
hours. From Gillman’s point go on to
Uhuru Peak, 19,340ft,
about 1-2 hours. We'll reach the peak in the early
morning. Begin descent Kibo hut, lunch along the way. Then
further down to
Horombo hut for dinner
and overnight. |

Day 6 |
After breakfast, continue your
descent to Marangu gate with lunch on the way. The car
will be waiting for you to take you to back to the
Impala Hotel in
Arusha. |

Day 7 |
Transfer to airport to catch a
homebound flight.

expedition tents, made in the United States by Eureka and The North
Face. These are imported specifically for Orio Wildlife
Safaris. Tents contain mattresses. |
 | Use of radios or phones for your

 | Group average of 4-6 climbers, maximum
